Tribute to Sammy Hagar, Montrose, Van Halen, UFO and more
In 2023, Val Popovic, who was already involved in several tribute bands, proposed forming a new band with his friends Randy Scoles and Atomik Tommy McClendon. They initially came together to perform a one-time Christmas show featuring songs by the Trans-Siberian Orches-tra, Sammy Hagar, Van Halen, Montrose, Led Zeppelin, and UFO. The energy of that perfor-mance was so inspiring that it motivated them to create Red Rocker Revisited.
With Randy's exceptional voice—previously showcased while singing with Ronnie Montrose—and Tommy's experience with UFO, Val envisioned creating a tribute band dedicated to Sammy Hagar and the Circle, but with their own unique twist. The core members of Journey Revisited, along with Tommy McClendon (who performed and toured with UFO from 1984 to 1988 on the album *Misdemeanor* and the EP *Ain't Misbehavin'*), and Randy Scoles (who performed with Ronnie Montrose, Dan McNay on bass, and Steve Brown on drums), formed Red Rocker Revisited.
The band delivers electrifying performances filled with career-spanning hits from Montrose—such as "Rock Candy" and "Bad Motor Scooter"—as well as from Sammy Hagar's solo career, including "I Can't Drive 55" and "Heavy Metal." They also cover Van Halen classics like "Why Can't This Be Love," along with Led Zeppelin's "Heartbreaker/Livin' Lovin' Maid" and "Rock and Roll," and UFO's "Lights Out" and "Too Hot To Handle." The talent within Red Rocker Revisited ensures that they provide an unforgettable show for fans of true rock music.
